Mit dieser Messlehre bestimmen Sie die Fahrzeughöhe, genauer gesagt den Abstand zwischen der Unterseite vom Chassis und dem Untergrund. Ähnlich wie der Ausfederweg hat auch die Fahrzeughöhe Einfluss auf das Rollverhalten (Kippneigung) des Fahrzeuges und den zur Verfügung stehenden Griff sowie die Kurvengeschwindigkeit.
