For the 10th generation of the Ford F-150, engineering started as far back as 1991 with the project code named PN-96. The first re-design since 1980, Ford concentrated on smoother, softer design, perhaps looking into the future when trucks would make their way into more and more homes as a family vehicle. The new generation span lasted from 1997 to 2004 only undergoing minor changes in aesthetics and inside basics to accommodate extended and future crew cab models. The new Ford was going places as sales surged and during this platform span celebrated 100 years of trucks.
On the monster truck scene, big name teams were out promoting the new 1997 and celebrating with Ford with a massive array of paint schemes and sponsorship packages.
