The Mugen buggy has always captured the market with performance and reliability and JConcepts believes, it deserves an equally striking body. The Strike 3 body samples elements from its famous relatives the Finnisher, Silencer and Striker bodies but packs a slightly refined image. Used in prototype form during events such as the Wicked Weekend in Gainesville, GA and Mugen Challenge in Oak Mills, Pennsylvania, Cole Ogden was impressive with the S3 body.

The base enhancements to the design come from the parallel to chassis side-pods, that look traditional with 1/8th buggies of the past. A large rear-end winglet has been added to aid in the rear traction stability as well as stopping force. Impressions during testing and racing at the 2016 World Championships were extremely positive leaving the Strike 3 as one of the front runners heading into the A-final event. It all finishes with a drop-fit design which wraps the Mugen chassis layout like a glove.

The offset of the race proven shell provides a compact fit for fuel tank, linkage and air filter assembly which drivers fully appreciate after a complete trim and paint. The heavy channeling on the front windshield keeps the Strike 3 aligned at high-speed while the side-pods have multiple hard-edge angles that spill off neatly into 90 degree side-panels. Just behind the engine head, a sleek up-rising flows from the body like running water and a sharp rise in the rear wicker blocks flow to the rear tower and redirects to the rear wing area.
